Leads from a stranger!

Have you ever had that moment where you meet a stranger - meet a new client - meet that person in your community or profession you had always been curious about but had never met before?

Just this week I had the oppportunity to meet a real personality in our community. I had heard much of this person but like many I had focused on my existing network, existing database and had failed to make an effort to meet this person. It was quite by accident really, in a cafe and we got talking as we waited. Each being on our own, lead me to invite him to sit with me for his coffee.  We swapped cards and told each other what we did. In 20 minutes we found we both had ideas and leads that would help each other. 3 days later I had a call from a total stranger who he had referred to me. I have already returned the favour.

So I have made a list of 5 other personalities in our commuity (and how about someone outside your area too) I want to meet. Yes we need to keep mining our databases and networks, but I found I could get almost immediate results from a stranger, albeit one of some repute. So who is the personality, celebrity or competitor even, in your community that you would love to meet but haven't yet had the courage or opportunity to do so?

Take a moment and write down the name of just ONE person you feel may inspire you or create leads for you. Now make the call. Imagine if you did that once a week!!!
