I was sharing a few hours with a sales team just the other day and in our discussions they made a list of some issues (problems) they had. Suddenly there was a list of several items, including: 

1 Not enough profile.

2. Getting Appraisals and not winning the listings.

3. Boring Sales Meetings.

4. Not enough Vendor Marketing coming in. Too hard to get = to scared to ask.

5. Old technology.

6.  Admin that is slow and stuck in their ways.

7. A Manager who won't change anything.

8. No results "floor time."

9. Boring Training!

10. No one else prospects like you do, yet they get the listings.

Sound familiar?

I asked this team how long they had been "feeling" this way. One answer was, "I have been here 5 years and it's always been like this."

"Wow, how come you are still here," I asked.

The answer was really interesting. "Not really sure."

My response to that was very simple.

"Are these really issues or are you just having a moan? Why would you work somewhere that's as bad as you say? Are you serious?"

"You have 3 choices:

1. Leave and stop complaining

2. Make changes within by convincing your colleagues and manager it's a great idea.

3. Or just shut-up and get on with it because if you won't do 1 or 2 you are just complaining and looking to blame someone else."

Just imagine if you had a problem that really was a year old? 

Seek a solution and move on.

As we often say: "NEXT?"
