On Friday my friend Graeme succeeded in setting a new world record for Hydro-planes at Lake Karapiro. At speeds around 280 kph his boat barely touched the water as it made its fast runs up and down the lake.
Last week I called it: On the EDGE in anyone's mind!
The level of commitment was so impressive. All his crew knew their tasks and everything was so efficient and clinical.
His first run was impressive and on the return lap the motor blew!
Disappointing? Yes!
Finished? NO!
The crew simply fitted a 2nd motor and out he went again, about 3 hours later and set a new record.
A blown motor is what's called set back! Some set back you might say. Not quite like missing a listing you might say.
The goal remained, the commitment remained the set back was over-come and success achieved.
